Hello! We, Rocco, Rio, Lascar and Yaris are four young alpacas who want to spend an exciting and eventful time with you! Our sensible and calm manner makes us the ideal companion for a relaxed alpaca hike. No matter whether young or old, everyone who looks deep into our eyes is immediately enchanted. The alpaca hike takes us on hiking trails through the nearby forest. Our special highlight is a walk in the river!
Duration
The total duration of the alpaca hike is approx. 1.5 – 2 hours.
The first half an hour we spend at the farm, where you can find out everything you need to know about our origins, diet and how to treat us properly.
Then we finally start and we hike for about 1 – 1.5 hours with you.
Conditions of participation
We are 4 alpacas, so a maximum of 4 people can lead one animal. All other people hike as companions.
Children between 6-9 years lead together with an adult (everyone receives their own leash).
Children from 10 years of age are allowed to lead an animal alone. An adult companion will accompany you. Young people aged 15 and over are allowed to lead an animal alone without an accompanying person.
Children up to the age of 5 years run for free, but are not allowed to lead animals for safety reasons.
Prices
per person with animal: € 30, –
per accompanying person without animal: € 15, –
Children up to 5 years are free.
Payment is made on site. Please note that we only accept cash payments.
Booking and inquiries
We are happy to accept your booking for the alpaca hike no later than 6:00 p.m. on the day before the desired date! If you have any further questions, feel free to send us an email.
Gift Vouchers
We would be happy to send you our vouchers conveniently by post (additional €3,- for shipping within Austria, abroad depending on the real postage costs). The invoice will be sent via email. Just send us an email with following information if you like gift vouchers to alpaka@haus-mair.at:
- Number of vouchers (1 voucher per person guiding an animal), if you also like vouchers for companions just let us know)
- Your post adress
Corona
Your safety is very important to us, so we guarantee compliance with all applicable Corona measures!
Equipment
We recommend clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy shoes.
Dogs
We alpacas have the greatest respect for dogs. Therefore they have to stay at home.
Stroller
The trail mostly leads through a forest path criss-crossed with tree roots. Driving with strollers is not possible. However, we can adjust the route accordingly and stay on paved paths. We only change the route if no other guests are hiking with us.
Weather
We alpacas hike in almost any weather. In special cases (heavy rain, storm or very icy conditions) the hike has to be postponed. Please don´t bring an umbrella since we are scared of them.
Pictures
It is not possible to take pictures during the hike because we alpacas need your full attention. However, we have enough time for two long photo stops.
